Lucy Creek, The Dog Training Barn, Banbury, OX7 2PW
Saturday 28th April 2018
The Lucy Creek training day will take place on Saturday 28th April 2018 and is open to all members aged 6-24 years. This workshop will include both Heelwork to Music (HTM) and Freestyle sections and will cover different topics like how to turn your tricks into more advanced moves; how to improve accuracy and motivation; how to think about choreography; how to use props; and how to start more complex behaviours. This may include some fun games that also require audience participation without dogs so be prepared!
The training day will be hosted by Lucy Creek. Lucy has made a name for herself by getting an 'untrainable' beagle (Teasel) to the Crufts Freestyle finals six ago. Teasel then went onto qualify five years in a row, making Teasel one of the most successful non-collies in freestyle.
It is with her Border Collie, Skiffle though that she has had the most competitive success. This year Skiffle was the highest placed British team member (and also the only dog to place in both Heelwork to Music and Freestyle) at the Open European Championships. The British Team came first overall in both divisions.
Lucy now also has two year old Maple, a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, who has recently started competing and has already moved into Intermediate level in both HTM and Freestyle.
