YKC Neil Ellis and Josie Spurling Agility Training Day

Rockingham Castle, Rockingham, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 8TH

Wednesday 8th August 2018

The YKC will be hosting a training day to get members ready for the agility festival competitions. It’s ideal practice for those competing but any member is welcome to apply for training. There are two sessions available: Morning – Grade 1-4 Dogs

Afternoon  - Grade 5-7 Dogs. A maximum of 14 members can attend each session, and then split into two groups of 7 depending on dog height. Each group will spend an hour and a half with each trainer, swapping halfway through after a break therefore having time on both an agility and jumping course. Members will have a chance to walk the course and run it initially, before going into some analysis to help prepare them for competition days.

Neil Ellis

Neil has been competing in agility for the past 15 years and has vast experience in competing at all the top finals in the UK as a junior, as well as an Adult. He is also part of the YKC Junior Team GB set up as a coach and co-ordinator, whilst having an input as a judge in the Adult Team. Neil’s enthusiasm and motivation to teach young people makes this an opportunity not to be missed.

Josie Spurling

Josie has been one of the most popular agility trainers in Sussex and is passionate about creating better relationships between owners and their dogs. As well as coaching Josie loves competing and has seen much success with her seven year old spaniel Eva, and now has a new recruit Bolt a Border Collie. Josie is very proud to have been selected as a coach for the YKC Junior Team GB.
